Designing bedrooms.
When designing a bedroom from scratch- lie down on the floor and feel which position feels the most comfortable to position the bed. What are you looking at? Sometimes space does not allow for choice but if it does, the position of the bed is crucial. Maybe you are facing the door, maybe looking at an unsightly view. When designing bedrooms, start with getting the position of the bed right, this is the largest piece of furniture and needs careful attention.
Bedrooms - interior Design tips.
- Make sure you have something you enjoy looking at opposite your bed. this may be a painting, photos or wallpaper.
- Make sure you can read comfortably in bed - this means getting the lighting right. Look out for adjustable wall-lights that can direct light over your book. Wall-fixed - do not attach to headboards as they could be a fire hazard.
- Position tall table lamps to give a warm and wecoming light.
- Make sure you have a suitably sized bedside table or shelf to store - glasses, book, phone, clock etc.,
- Invest in a warm throw or blanket to cocoon in - colour suited to decor.
