This is a picture of the new collection from Designers Guild "Oriental Garden" Shown here is Taisho Blossom - moss. Chinoisserie with a contemporary twist. Big, bold flowers, bamboo and trailing designs - great for opening up space.Big, bold designs on a natural theme. Great range of fake leathers in clean colours - see their Rossano range.
Wallpapers are big and here! Metallic backgrounds with printed designs. Loved Winter Tree by Larsen available from Jane Churchill. Also Harlequin Harris have wonderful designs in wallpaper and fabrics. Again, metallics dominate - huge flowers designs with wavy co-ordinates in fabrics.
Hot colours: bold pink, yellow and spring (fresh) greens dominated. Also aqua blues and simple black and white. Neutrals serve only as a backdrop to colour - colour is back!
Geometric designs were also strong - use with big prints in same range of colours. And don't forget, it's all in the detail - look for glass trimmings - see Nina Campbells Follies Fringe range for Osborne and Little - lovely glass noughts and crosses in a great selection of colours.
Materials: linen, metallic woven linen, cut velvets and chenilles. Silk.
