I love putting on my interior design workshops - but running them is not for the faint-hearted!
It is like putting on a major production.... read more..
What appears to be one day of work to some, is actually weeks of preparation! My workshops are never exactly the same as I am always tweaking them and bringing in new ideas. So when I liken them to a major production, it goes like this.....
I do the scenery (getting the house prepared), the props - all my colour boards (which constantly need updating) also continualy refresh all my georgeous samples of fabric, paint, wallpaper, flooring etc, the script (I write all the back-up notes and re-jig the timetable each session). I do the costumes - (I have to look appropriately dressed and of course check my colours!) - I provide the refreshments - freshly brewed coffee, herb teas and delicious cakes for tea. I employ a helper for the day to serve my guests - well done Flora, for completing your first workshop on Saturday.
And lastly I star in the show! I teach my guests interior design and help them understand the various aspects of being an interior designer, from planning a room to putting together a successful colour scheme - each with individual tuition...and more....Phew!!
So you see what I mean by it not just being one day! I am passionate about it and so love doing each workshop. Unlocking my guests' creativity is my target and I feel really satisfied when they leave inspired at the end of the day.
Come on one and see for yourself!
